The Saskatchewan NDP has announced what they would like to see the government include in next week’s provincial budget.
The party would like to see the government make smart investments that will improve the economy and will improve the lives of Saskatchewan residents.
NDP Leader, Ryan Meili says focusing on restoring the damage from cuts to education, mental health and other public services is his party’s wish for the upcoming provincial budget.
Also investments into mental health are something that the NDP would also welcome says Meili. “We’re really wanting to see… is the government going to continue down that same road or are we going to see some wise investments.” He also highlights over-spending from the province, including the Regina bypass which went from an estimated cost of 400 million dollars to the 2 billion dollar range. The 2018-19 budget is set to be tabled in the Legislature Tuesday afternoon.
