A 28 year old man is in custody after pointing a replica handgun at a Police K-9 member.
The incident took place this morning at 12:30 at the corner of Northumberland Avenue and 33rd Street West.
The officer was parked when he saw the man walking and pointing the gun in different directions. The officer then got out of vehicle and gave the man verbal directions then the man turned and pointed the gun at the officer.
The officer then deployed his K-9 partner at which time the man pointed the gun at the dog but was taken to the ground by the dog and was taken into custody.
The man was treated for injuries and was the transported to police headquarters.
The man is facing multiple charges.
The officer and K-9 partner were not injured in the incident.
