The Ministry of Advanced Education has tabled two losses with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.
The report covers the period July 1st, 2016 to December 31st, 2017. North West College reports the loss of $11,300 in cash payments. The college reports that it has improved its cash handling controls. A report was filed with the RCMP and, upon completion of the legal process, the college will determine if an insurance claim can be filed.
Saskatchewan Polytechnic reported a loss of $1,545 cash. Payment for merchandise sold disappeared when it was received by people who weren’t financial services staff. No one has been identified. Moose Jaw Police investigated with no charge laid. Sask Polytechnic says it has since revised its customer payment processes.
