Rod is one of Saskatchewan's longest running radio broadcasters with over 31 years on the air and looks forward to every morning because " It's a new toy everyday! " |
Dave ThomasMoo Crew I have called Saskatoon home for the last decade... Wow 10 years flies by when you're living in the greatest city in the world. I am a prairie boy through and through, born in Weyburn which is where I started my radio career. (Coincidentally enough, the same radio station that Rod Kitter started at. WAY BEFORE MY TIME! You know back when radio was in black and white.) I am a sports fanatic! I broadcasted the Saskatoon Blades for nine seasons, as colour commentator upon moving to Saskatoon, and I follow the Vancouver Canucks to the point where I cannot sleep the night before their play-off games. In the summer you will find me on a golf course, playing ball or cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders... I have a beautiful wife Kathryn and two amazing boys Will and Alex, who are teaching me new things every day! The best part of my job is waking up Saskatchewan every morning with a cup of coffee, a smile, and some of the world's greatest music. (Oh yeah and news on the latest big win for the Canucks or Riders... here's hoping anyways.) Talk to you on the radio soon! |

Jason Lee2p - 6p As the local band "My Kinda Country" put it...I'm a Swan River Man from Swan River, Man! Even though my roots are in Manitoba, I was born and raised a Rider fan (also a hardcore Philadelphia Flyers fan). My radio career started in St. Paul, AB then continued to Fort Nelson, BC...Athabasca, AB...Dawson Creek, BC and now Saskatoon! You know, it doesn't matter what day of the year it is, yes even Christmas...somebody in the world does something stupid (most of the time it's criminals). I enjoy sharing these stories with you and award somebody "The Bonehead of the Day" weekdays at 2:50pm (Please do me a favor and never win this award) Then comes the 3 o'clock Stampede as we charge toward the "Drive Home Show!" The "Drive Show" consists of your favorite country music, up-to-date traffic, the Drive Home Flashback and more times than not...free stuff to giveaway! With the radio gig comes emceeing events...make sure to say hi if you see me at an event somewhere in the province. I also announce with the Canadian Professional Chuckwagon Association, I hope to see you somewhere along the Chuckwagon trail in 2012 on the Pro Tour! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. People call me "Snacks" maybe cuz I keep our station vending machine in bussiness! A little about myself...born and raised in Calgary, first radio job was in Powell River, BC where I actually lost an Ian Tyson CD in the CD player! Then I was a Chef in Calgary for a number of years at "The Unicorn Pub" for the Irish Rovers where I assured the food and yes the drinks "beer" were the best quality! Then, I found myself back in radio in Regina at CKRM, where I was groomed to be a Rider Fan and also worked at a Rock and Soft Rock station before making the move to Saskatoon. I have a lovely wife, a step son (who is all grown up and living on his own now) and 2 beautiful daughters. Let me tell you, being the only male in a home with 3 girls can be a challange! When it comes to marriage, I've learned to keep a strong marriage by following my wife's rule "do you want to be right, or do you want to be married!" I host "Call For Country" Thursday and Friday evening, where you can request your favorite songs. Then on Saturday evening, we have a lot of fun on the "Old Tyme Dance Party" where we have your Polkas, Waltz's, Ukrainian, Fiddle, and Novelty songs. (I'm still trying to master the jig...and from time to time I hurt my back with all the dancing) Then on Sunday night, join me for a very inspirational evening with "The Country Gospel Show."

Tammy HindsWeekends I am a proud graduate of WABC here in Saskatoon. I started my career down south in Estevan where I interned and met my good friend Sharon Jacobs! Shortly after I moved to Weyburn to work at the station there. Ever wonder why Dave Thomas is so great? It's because I trained him back in Weyburn. ;-) Tune in and you will find out all the latest news on your favourite Country artists. I enjoy keeping up to date on all the goings on in Country music...alright the gossip. From June to November life is all about the greatest game around. THE CFL! I bleed green and look forward to cheering the boys on throughout the season. GO RIDERS GO! Movies , Concerts, the Theatre, travel and Hot Yoga are some of my other loves. In the summer I also love to Golf and am proud to be a part of the Lupus SK Golf Tournament Committee. Hope to see you out on the course. If you see a club wrapped around a tree it just might be mine. Much like I bleed green, Radio is in my blood and I am happy to fill in whenever I can at the station. Hope to catch you on the airwaves soon! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it |
