There is added importance on the Big-City Saskatchewan rivalry Friday night…at least for the Saskatoon Blades as they host the Regina Pats.
The Queen City Kids may be winless in their last eight games and sport only a 12-31-2 record…but they have played the Bridge City Bunch tough so far, splitting a pair of one-goal games. The 26-13-6 Blue and Gold have been off since Saturday and have watched Moose Jaw creep up towards them and their East Division second place standing…which carries home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Warriors have closed to within five points of the second place Blades in the W-H-L’s East Division. And, the Tribe has four games in hand. Moose Jaw is in Victoria Friday night for the third stop on their B-C road trip. Game time for Saskatoon and Regina is 7 o’clock with the broadcast on 98-COOL signing on at 6 with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show.
