As of Thursday, the Skyxe Saskatoon Airport has a flat rate for taxis licensed at the airport, depending on where you are going or coming from.
Each zone has a specific flat rate.
The licensed providers are United Cabs and riide.
Unlicensed providers would use a meter rate as per the city’s bylaw.
The flat rate fares means traffic setbacks are out of the equation, because your fare is pre-set.
As an example, the flat rate from Confederation area is $23 and from University Heights it would be $31.
There is also a $2 airport taxi trip fee, which will be used to reinvest in road and curb infrastructure and training programs for commercial service providers.
The Saskatoon Airport says trip fees are the industry standard for all major Canadian airports, as are the zone-based fares.
