The Canadian Real Estate Association says benchmark home prices in Saskatoon were down 2.1 per cent on a year-over-year basis in July. They were off 4.8 per cent in Regina. Nationally, the Aggregate Composite MLS Home Price Index was up 2.1 per cent year-over-year last month. That represents the first acceleration in that category since April 2017. Association President Barb Sakkau says, “This year’s new stress-test on mortgage applicants continues to weight on home sale but its effect may be starting to fade slightly in Toronto and nearby markets.”
