Environment Canada’s weather map indicates smoke haze through all of the western provinces coming from the wildfires in British Columbia.
A special air quality statement is in effect for most of Saskatchewan except the far north.
The smoke is in the upper levels of the atmosphere.
The weather office says the air quality over central Saskatchewan should improve tomorrow (Thurs), but further south, periodic hazy conditions will continue for several more days.
As of this morning (Wed), Saskatoon’s Air Quality Health Index was an 8 which is high risk and it was a 5 in Regina, which is moderate risk.
