Film crews from the Discovery Channel will be in Swift Current later this month to observe the fire department. It’s for the second season of the show Hellfire Heroes, where crews will film the department’s day-to-day operations, and see how they perform a rescue operation on area wind turbines. Fire Chief Darren McClelland says there was a little bit of nervousness amongst the crew at first. There’s the pressure of feeling like you are being graded by everybody. But, he thinks the guys are pretty excited and definitely welcoming the challenge. The department is being featured in the second season and episodes on it are expected to air next spring.
