City crews will be microsurfacing the Idylwyld Drive southbound exit ramp to Ruth Street tonight. They’re doing the work at night to limit the impact on road users. Microsurfacing is a road surfacing treatment that preserves the roadway. It’s applied to weathered or worn surfaces that are structurally sound. Signs will be in place advising drivers and reminding them to reduce speeds to 60 km/hr in the work zone. Fines for speeding in a work zone have increased to $440 for driving 20 km/hr over the speed limit and $1,008 when speeds reach 40 km/hr over the speed limit.
