Saskatoon RCMP say Robert Harry Lehto was last seen on Sunday afternoon around 2 p.m. near a sandbar in the river at Paradise Beach.
The 57 year old man was first reported missing around 6 o’clock.
Police say the investigation, and items foundĀ near Paradise Beach, led members to the area.
The Saskatoon Fire Department searched the beach and downstream in a boat on Sunday night and a police dog and handler searched the shoreline while a STARS helicopter flew above.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Unit and Civilian Air Search and Rescue began searching the water near Paradise beach and downstream on Monday, to no avail and RCMP say the search along and in the river continues.
Other avenues of the investigation remain open, so anyone who may have seen Lehto after Sunday should call RCMP with any information.
