SGI says a province-wide traffic safety campaign saw 79 tickets issued to new drivers and motorcyclist who weren’t following the requirements outlined on their licences. That incudes things like driving without a supervising driver and not displaying the appropriate learner or novice placard on a motorcycle. While the focus in June was on new drivers and motorcyclists, police also issued over 56 hundred aggressive driving or speeding tickets, 567 for distracted driving, 455 for seatbelt and child restraint issues, and 375 for impaired driving.
