The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations is condemning Husky Energy for what they say is another catastrophe for First Nations communities in Saskatchewan.
Husky Energy says treated salt water associated with its oil production near Turtleford, Sask., spilled into the nearby Englishmen River on Wednesday.
It’s not yet known how much leaked on land or into the river.
F-S-I-N Chief Bobby Cameron says Husky has again failed to work with First Nations to address the spill.
They also raised concerns with Husky after an oil spill into the North Saskatchewan river in 2016.
