It’s my Parting Shot for some Tuesday Tidbits…
Aside from T-S-N trying to keep the narrative alive, does anybody wonder what Johnny Manziel’s chances of getting any reps at quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are anytime soon?! Nobody in Hamilton seems to care…Jeremiah Masoli keeps piling up 300-yard passing games. However, if this situation existed in Saskatchewan, well the talk would be CRAZY!! As it is, Rider Nation only has Zach Collaros, Brandon Bridge and David Watford to worry about…peanuts by comparison!
Since Canada and Ukraine didn’t qualify, my interest in the World Cup of Soccer isn’t as huge as it could be. But, as the month-long tournament gets into the final stages, you can’t help but get swept up in the emotion. That’s because any time you pit country against country…best against best…that is when sport is at its best and most interesting to watch…no matter if it’s soccer, curling or tiddlywinks! Notice I didn’t say hockey because N-H-L bosses weren’t smart enough to let their players take part in the Olympics this past February!
And, once again, it has been proven…beyond a shadow of a doubt…when he’s healthy, Milos Raonic is Canada’s best tennis player…male or female! Denis Shapovalov has flair, Genie Bouchard has good looks…but their games aren’t near the elite level that Raonic can produce! As he is right now at Wimbledon!!
