Saskatchewan Roughriders’ G-M and head coach Chris Jones said Monday that Brandon Bridge will be behind centre to start Thursday’s game against visiting Hamilton.
Despite not playing any of the second half of Saturday’s loss to Montreal, Bridge is slated to make the fourth start of his four-year C-F-L career. The Canadian completed just eight of 18 pass attempts for 111 yards with two interceptions in the first half against Montreal, giving him a passer efficiency rating of 18.5. When the second half started, import David Watford was the Green and White quarterback. The C-F-L rookie went 10-for-22 passing for 108 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions for an efficiency rating of 37.7.
In addition, the Riders added defensive back Matt Elam to the practice roster Monday. The 26-year-old Florida product played 39 games over three seasons with the Florida Gators before being selected in the first round, 32nd overall, by Baltimore in the 2013 N-F-L draft, playing 41 games for the Ravens from 2013 through ’16.
