If you plan to set off fireworks in celebration of Canada Day, it comes with a cautionary note from the Saskatoon Fire Department.
Low hazard fireworks are for public and recreational use and include some roman candles and sparklers and travel less than 50 metres or 160 feet. You are allowed to use low hazard fireworks between dusk and 11 p.m.
You are advised to choose a location free of overhead obstruction, with clearance on either side and safely away from anything which could combust. And read the instructions before using them.
