Canadian National Railway plans to invest about $210-million in Saskatchewan this year to expand and strengthen its rail network.
CN Spokesperson Doug Ryhorchuk says the money will go toward new double track across the Prairies, some new equipment and more employees.
It’s part of CN’s $3.4-billion capital program for 2018 and includes construction of double track in the Melville area, along with west of the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border and near the Alberta-Saskatchewan border.
CN reports around 1-thousand employees in Saskatchewan and over 19-hundred miles of railroad.
