The Canadian Elite Basketball League keeps coming together…slowly but surely.
The Guelph, Ontario franchise in the fledgling, new loop introduced itself Wednesday as the “Nighthawks” with accompanying logo (pictured) and colours. That makes three of the six teams that have announced their nicknames and colours…all from Ontario. The others are the Hamilton Honey Badgers, named Tuesday, and the Niagara River Lions, who came forward last week. That leaves the three Western franchises to have names, logos and colours…Saskatchewan (based out of SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon), Edmonton and Fraser Valley, B.C. Those announcements are all expected within the next month. The CEBL expects to start its inaugural season in May, 2019.
