If you are downstream of the Gardiner Dam, you may notice the water level going down a bit in the next few weeks.
In response to less water coming from Alberta because of dry conditions, the Waters Security Agency will be reducing the outflow from Gardiner Dam.
The water level should drop by an average of a metre, which is still within the normal range for this time of year.
The WSA says maintaining Lake Diefenbaker at a certain level supports summer recreational activities and downstream users.
There has below normal rainfall in southern Alberta over the past few months and high water use in that province, which meant less flow to Saskatchewan.
