Saskatoon Police point out that recording as much information about your bicycle, as you can, is important. Details when adding your bike to the SPS Bike Registry like its make, its serial number, colour and even a picture, will help in its recovery if stolen. That point was emphasized when Saskatoon Police recovered a stolen bike just yesterday. The serial number was still on the bike and it was connected to a stolen bicycle report taken in September 2017.
Saskatoon Police officers were going to just issue a ticket to a man allegedly riding his bike on the sidewalk in the area of Avenue G South and 20th Street West when they determined the bicycle the suspect was riding, was reported stolen. A 21 year old man was charged with Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000. And reportedly officers in the detention area at the police station seized a large hunting knife from the suspect’s backpack and he has been charged, as well, with Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public.
