There were shots fired after a break and enter at a rural property about three kilometres south of Debden overnight. Big River RCMP say around midnight the property owner encountered two suspects stealing from his property. Two long-barreled firearms were reportedly stolen. When the suspects fled, the owner followed them in another vehicle. When a number of shots were fired in his direction from the suspect vehicle the owner stopped the pursuit. RCMP responded and located the vehicle. Several police units pursued it but were unable to safely stop it and it got away. Police are asking the public to watch for a black, Dodge 4-door pickup truck that has damage to the rear tailgate, the driver’s side taillight and has a smashed rear window. You should not approach the vehicle but if you see it, gather as many details as you can and call any police service or Crime Stoppers.
