The City of Saskatoon is going to play bingo.
City workers are challenged to find alternate ways to work from June 3rd to the 9th as part of the national commuter challenge.
They’ll be able to tick off boxes on bingo cards with transportation alternatives listing the different ways they can leave their cars at home.
Saskatoon Director of Transit Jim McDonald says that includes cycling, walking. long boarding, car-pooling or taking the bus.
McDonald points to the recent success of the cycle to work day as a sign Saskatoon is catching on to the idea of leaving the car at home for the morning commute.
The bingo challenge is a friendly way for city staff and departments to compete for the unofficial title of most transportation sustainable.
