It is illegal to buy, trade, barter or sell wild meat. And that includes on Facebook. A Saskatoon man recently pleaded guilty in Saskatoon court under the The Wildlife Act for doing just that. In April last year, conservation officers became aware of a post on a Saskatoon Facebook Buy and Sell Page by someone looking to buy wild game meat. 41 year old Danial Mitchell had received several warnings that it was illegal to purchase wild game meat. Mitchell was fined a total of $3,380 and received a five year suspension from purchasing a hunting license.
