After 100 years, the War Amps are still active in the community, as their key tag service is delivering commemorative key tags for this year. The key tag service returns lost keys using a nine-digit code on the back. Safety events coordinator James Jordan says the key tag service originated with first and second world war amputees. The idea was to provide a service to Canadians while, at the same time, raising funds for artificial limbs, their programs for amputees, and for resources. Those who have yet to receive their key tags can call the war amps or go on line to order them.
