A man in Regina has been charged with robbery following an armed robbery that involved the theft of a vehicle.
Just before 9:30 last night, a man approached a vehicle in the Casino Regina parking lot and confronted the driver.
The man demanded that the driver exit the car and give the car over to the suspect.
The suspect threatened the driver with a knife although the driver was not harmed.
Police searched the area and found the stolen car in the 1600 block of Rae Street.
After a brief foot pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody.
Danton Bitternose is charged with armed robbery, possession of stolen property over 5 thousand dollars and possession of stolen property under 5 thousand dollars.
Bitternose will make his first court appearance tomorrow at 10 a.m.

The Candian government wants the country’s banks to identify, in customers’ bank statements when they receive the carbon rebate, that it is labelled as such.
Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says the lack of a clear identifier is contributing to confusion about carbon price rebates, so he is going to change the law if he has to in order to force the big banks to identify the carbon rebate by name when doing direct deposits.
The first rebate deposits in 2022 were labelled very generically, which meant recipients had no idea why they were getting the money.
T-D and B-MO have adopted the government’s requested “CdaCarbonRebate” entry, R-B-C and Scotiabank say they couldn’t make the change in time for the rollout, and C-I-B-C is still calling it “Deposit Canada.”
