SaskAlert has extended the wildfire emergency advisory as of yesterday afternoon for another 48 hours for the RM of Canwood.
A fire is currently burning in Prince Albert National Park, east of the RM of Canwood and at this time there is no immediate threat to the public. Residents in the community along the park boundary beginning NW of section 01 township 54 range05 West of the 3rd meridian to the SE of section 02 township 53 range 04 West of the 3rd meridian and within 2 miles of the Sturgeon River are being advised to be prepared to immediately leave the area should an evacuation be required.
As for the hamlet of Crutwell, residents are now able to return home after the ordered evacuation was lifted yesterday afternoon. However fires continue to burn in the RM of Shellbrook SouthWest of Holbein. Residents in Holbein and Crutwell as well as residents along and South of Highway 3 between Holbein and Crutwell are advised to remain on standby and to prepare for an evacuation if one is issued.
