A University of Saskatchewan study is looking into a link between the temperatures of the North Atlantic Ocean and flooding in Europe and North America.
Researchers have discovered the number of major floods in North America are reduced during warm phases while increasing in Europe.
The study areas are free of human factors like dams which give researchers more accurate data.
It also concludes major flood on both continents have not increased over the past 80 years.
