The country’s annual inflation rate cooled slightly last month but at 2.2 per cent, it stayed hot enough to hover above the two per cent midpoint of the Bank of Canada’s ideal range. Saskatchewan’s rate fell from 2.9 to 2.5 per cent. Six provinces were lower. Saskatoon’s rate fell from three per cent to 2.4. Of 16 cities surveyed, eight were lower.
