A 34 year old man died while in Prince Albert Police custody Friday morning.
The Police Service reports that Ryan Kereluk was arrested on Wednesday night.
He had warrants for break and enter and obstructing a peace officer and was also being arrested an interviewed in connection to a drug investigation for which he hadn’t been charged.
Kereluk appeared before a Justice of the Peace on Thursday and was remanded to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court Friday morning at 9:30, but just before 8 o’clock during routine cell checks he was discovered unconscious and not breathing.
He was transported to hospital where he was officially pronounced dead.
Members of the Criminal Investigation Division are investigating Kereluk’s death, along with the Coroner.
The cause of death has not yet been determined.
