The Sherry Anderson team from Saskatoon’s Nutana Curling Club has been named the SaskSport Athlete of the Month for April.

Anderson along with Patricia Hersikorn, Brenda Goertzen, Anita Silvernagle and coach Bill Tschirhart won the World Women’s Senior Curling Championship.

The team defeated the U.S 5-3 in the final. Their playoff victories included a 10-6 qualifying round win over Finland and a 7-5 decision over Switzerland in the semifinals.

The Nutana foursome also claimed the 2018 Canadian title, which means they will be headed back to the World Championships to defend their title next year.
