The Saskatchewan Union of Nurses wants to take the stigma away from HIV.
They have produced a documentary to paint a true picture of the infection in Saskatchewan.
Union President Tracy Zambory says the message is everyone who is sexually active should get tested and anyone who may have the infection should come forward.
Zambory says it takes just one pill taken once a day for an HIV sufferer to live a healthy productive life.
A donation of about 27 thousand dollars to AIDS Saskatoon was one of two large finaincial gifts from the Union after the sale of necklaces made for nurses.
Saskatchewan’s rate of infection is twice the national average and the province saw an 800-percent increase in the most severe cases in 2016.
