The city is planning to improve 206 lane kilometers of roadway and replace more than 20 kilometres of sidewalk during the construction season this year. This includes rehabilitation of the northbound overpass at Circle Drive and 33rd Street, intersection improvements at Arlington Avenue and Taylor Street, rehabilitation of Victoria Avenue, resurfacing of Idylwyld Drive North, and Water and Sewer improvements along Idylwyld Drive and in City Park. Angela Gardiner, Acting General Manager of Transportation and Utilities says work will continue 24 hours a day in some of the construction zones.
As for the North Commuter Parkway Bridge, that is set to open this fall as is the new wider and taller Traffic Bridge downtown.
