You have 25 days to submit your online application for this year’s Big Game Draw. It began today (Tues) and ends at midnight on the 25th.The Environment Ministry suggests that hunters should apply early and use the online residency verification tool to avoid complications, because several hunts have a high number of applicants compared to available licences. Two new priority pools improves the opportunity for long-term applicants. The Legacy pool enables long-term unsuccessful applicants who have applied for more than 10 years to be considered ahead of the Super A applicants and then a D pool will extend the amount of time for hunters to get to the Super A pool. The Big Game Draw is administered through HAL, the ministry’s online hunting, angling and trapping licence system. Results will be released through HAL accounts by mid-June, with the exception of pronghorn antelope, which will be available in mid-July.
