Nature doesn’t begin at the outskirts of the city. It is all around us. That’s the message from the organization Wild About Saskatoon which is organizing the annual NatureCity Festival. Spokesperson Candace Savage says the goal is to link the urban community with the wild spaces within the city limits, and bring more awareness and appreciation for what lives around us. You may notice some painted fox tracks over the next few weeks leading up to the festival in May as a reminder of what is coming and to reflect on the wildlife that lives in Saskatoon from bats and bees to fox, coyotes, pelicans, prairie grassland and the Meewasin River Valley. The Nature City Festival is May 22nd to 27th and covers a wide variety of topics and events from gardening workshops to environmental stewardship and guided nature tours.
