The Saskatoon and Area Community Threat Assessment and Support Protocol has gained three new partners. Last week the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies along with Great Plains College and the Whitecap Dakota First Nation have signed onto CTASP.
CTASP is designed for its partners to share information with each other that may help in assisting with a violent situation involving a student, teacher, or any other person that may pose a risk.
Susanne Berg with SIIT says any of the partners may also be called into action to assist with a situation.
She adds the protocol was established in 2011 and is guided by the principle that violence prevention in schools and neighbourhoods is a community responsibility.
With the addition of the three new partners, CTASP now has over 20 partners in the Saskatoon area including the Saskatoon Health Authority, the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services, and the Saskatoon and Warman RCMP detachments.
