If you have a valid library card, are from Saskatoon and have a valid need for internet access at home, the Saskatoon Public Library and the Food Bank may have the answer. There are a limited supply of WiFi hotspots available, so the Food Bank has been asking patrons to fill out a short survey to determine eligibility. The loan period for the 40 hotspots is three months. The Saskatoon Public Library offers free WiFi at all of its nine locations during library hours, but says lending hotspots will allow patrons to access the internet 24 hours a day. It’s a six month pilot project which, depending on its effectiveness, may be expanded depending on feedback and circulation statistics.
