Some of Canada’s best in country music will be in Saskatoon tonight to perform at a benefit concert for those affected by the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Country Thunder Saskatchewan has organized the event at SaskTel Centre with all proceeds going to the Humboldt Broncos players, staff, families and billets. Country Thunder’s Gerry Krochak says it wasn’t tough to get those who will be on stage tonight to say they wanted to be a part of this because they are great performers but even better people. They wanted to be here, Krochak says and SaskTel Centre offered the venue. Some of the performers include the Hunter Brothers out of Shaunavon, Chad Brownlee and Langenburg’s Jess Moskaluke.
If you would like to take the bus out to the benefit concert tonight, Saskatoon transit will have 6 buses heading out there between 5:15 and 6:50. The buses leave from the Special Events Stop at 23rd Street and 2nd Avenue. Post-event drop-off is at the downtown terminal. The fare is $3 per trip. Transfers and passes are accepted.
