A Saskatoon couple will be recognized Wednesday for their generosity and humane contributions to the city.
Elaine and Sherwood Sharfe will receive the Red Cross Power of Humanity, Humanitarians of the year award.
Sherwood said their passion and commitment to make Saskatoon a better place remains strong.
“The fullfilling nature is that and it’s almost a bit odd to say it this way, but it’s what your next project will be.”
Elaine said there are rewards for giving to the community.
“I would say give because whatever you give you’re are going to get back two-fold.”
The Red Cross points out many organizations have benefited from the Sharfe’s philanthropy and humanity.
Jack Saddleback will be given the 2018 Young Humanitarian of the Year award during Wednesday’s third annual awards luncheon.
The Red Cross will use proceeds from the event for its bulling prevention education program and to help families trying to recover from personal disasters like house fires.
