Saskatchewan’s highways minister says detours will be in place for a while after a section of highway 8 north of Kamsack washed out when a main culvert failed.
It’s a big, 15-hundred metre pipe which has blown out on a major culvert running underneath the road.
Dave Marit says repairs will take some time, since a new pipe will have to be installed by crane.
He adds it’s tough to put pipe in a flowing stream, so they will have to wait for the water to subside.
