It has been an odd day, with another complaint of a moose on the loose in Saskatoon. Police received a call about a second, smaller moose over the noon hour in the 1200 block of Avenue P North. Officers couldn’t find it when they checked out the neighbourhood. Any further sightings should be reported to the Environment Ministry at 306-933-6240.
Earlier on Friday: After following a moose in its adventures through Saskatoon neighbourhoods this morning, just before 11 a.m. conservation officers managed to tranquilize the animal with a single dart. It went to sleep in the 17-hundred block of Avenue H North. The moose was reported a couple hours earlier in Pierre Radisson Park, North of 29th Street West. It wandered down some allies and streets and into a dog park where it got chased out by dogs and area residents were being asked to stay clear until authorities could get the moose to safety. The moose, although large, is young and was taken south of the city to be released.
