A tribute concert is in the works to honour Saskatchewan’s Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team — and those affected by this month’s team-bus crash that killed 16 players and staff and injured 13 others. Organizers of the Country Thunder Music Festival have booked Saskatoon’s SaskTel Centre for April 27th. A list of performers will be unveiled at a news conference this morning (thurs).
Two more funerals will be held today stemming from the accident involving the Humboldt Broncos bus and a semi-truck. Dayna Brons, the 24-year-old athletic trainer for the team will be laid to rest in Humboldt during a ceremony at the Elgar Petersen Arena at 11:30. And the funeral for 21 year old Conner Lukan, a player with the team, will be held in Slave Lake Alberta. The Saskatchewan Health Authority reports that 9 people involved in the crash remain in hospital, with 2 in critical condition.
