Kenzie Arnold’s short-handed goal, with just 62 seconds left in the first overtime period, completed a late Nipawin comeback as the Hawks regained home-ice advantage in the S-J-H-L final by out-lasting the Bruins 4-3 in Estevan Tuesday night.
The Bruins appeared to have Game 3 in hand when they built a 3-1 lead with just over nine minutes remaining in the third period. But, Logan Casavant scored twice on the power play…the tying goal coming with four seconds remaining in regulation time…setting the stage for Arnold’s heroics. The result give Nipawin a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Canalta Cup series with Game 4 Wednesday night in Estevan.
