The death toll in the Humboldt Broncos bus crash has now reached 16.
The team’s Athletic Therapist passed away this afternoon (Wed). Dayna Brons had been listed in critical condition earlier in the day.
Her family says she was extremely proud to be a member of the Humboldt Broncos family.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority released a statement on behalf of Dayna’s family.
“Dayna passed away peacefully this afternoon as a result of her injuries. She was surrounded by those she loved and those who loved her. Dayna will be forever remembered for her joyful smile and her passion and love of sport.”
Dayna’s family thanks everyone who cared for her over these last few days and thanks everyone across the country for the love and prayers during this difficult time.

The funeral for broadcaster Tyler Bieber is 10 a.m. Thursday at the Humboldt Uniplex. A memorial service for Saskatoon’s Evan Thomas is 1 p.m. Monday at SaskTel Centre.
RCMP say they are trying to wrap up a complicated and detailed investigation as quickly as possible.
