Huskie Football Schedule Announced
The University of Saskatchewan Huskie football team opens the 2018 Canada West football season under the lights of Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park.
Head coach Scott Flory and the Huskies meet the Alberta Golden Bears on August 31 in the first of eight games in the scheduled announced by the conference on Tuesday.
The Huskies then travel to Winnipeg to meet the Manitoba Bisons on September 7 before returning to Saskatoon for home games against the Calgary Dinos on September 14 and provincial rival Regina Rams on September 21. The final home game moves to a Saturday afternoon on October 14 against the Bisons.
“The coaching staff and I are happy with our first full offseason together and are ready for our second season of Huskie football,” said Flory, who took over the Huskies in 2017. “We have a talented group of athletes and we expect to be competitive in this tough Canada West conference.”
Kickoff for the first three home games is slated for 7 p.m. at Griffiths Stadium in PotashCorp Park, with the Wyant Group Rally Alley returning for its fourth season starting at 5 p.m. The final home game is at 2 p.m. with Wyant Group Rally Alley opening at 12 p.m.
The presenting sponsor of Huskie football is Concorde Group of Companies.
Road trips for the Huskies include dates with the Dinos on September 29, UBC Thunderbirds on October 12 and the Rams on October 26.
