The Vice President of Prairie and Agri-business for the Canadian Federation of Independent Business is looking forward to budget day. Marilyn Braun-Pollon said March was the third straight month of growth in small business optimism, as Saskatchewan scored a 62; over five points higher than February. She says the budget has to address several factors to continue to uphold small business owners’ cautious optimism and that’s why they are looking forward to seeing what’s in the upcoming budget. She wants to see Saskatchewan returning to a balanced budget and would like to see efforts made to reduce the size and cost of government. Braun-Pollon also notes, this is the first time in two years Saskatchewan’s optimism index is higher than the national average, which sits at 60.7 points.
